| Home | Introducing THE NEW GMQ PRO! The Grace Company, makers of fine hand quilting products, have now improved what was already the best frame for home machine quilters. Multiple Table and Rail Sizes: Crib to King! The Grace Machine Quilter comes complete with four rails, including the 4th rail to keep your batting rolled up and off the floor, ends, and table tops. With the extra long neck on the Juki sewing machine, it is a total package that only requires your creativity, and the professional results you will quickly achieve will make you the envy of your friends.
Rail extensions (included) take the frame out to king size, or you may set it up in crib (70"). The braces and table top accommodate either size to create an extremely sturdy frame! Quilt From Either Side of the Frame. There are two handle grips at different locations on the frame allowing a variety of quilting positions, and they are extendable to accommodate comfortable height and standing distance from the frame. You can quilt from either side of the frame without worrying about where you step. Quilting from the back of the frame gives you a perfect view of your
stitching. Standing at the front of the frame, you can set it up to engage the
machine waist-high, or shoulder-high, whichever is most comfortable. Quilting at the back
is ideal if you are following a pattern laid out on the table top. A stylus and versatile
attaching mechanism is provided with your frame.
How the sewing machine tracks is the key to the entire system. With the
GMQ your machine rests on two specially designed, sturdy plates that track perfectly with
ball-bearing rollers for an incredibly smooth ride. The wheels on the plates are
tractor-style positioned to provide absolute balance and stability for your machine. There
is no wobbling. These plates allow for over sixteen inches of forward/reverse travel in
the work area. The only limit to your reach is the length of the neck of your machine..
The tracks for the bottom plate are in-set on the tabletops in pre-cut grooves, so they
automatically align and are guaranteed to stay straight. Front to back tension is controlled with three high-precision 30 tooth ratchet
wheels. These provide easy, smooth rolling of your fabric, and accurate re-setting of the
tension. The double-locking stops hold the wheels in place when not rolling. The GMQ-Pro comes with four side-tension clamps (two for each side). Simply apply the clamp themn pull and secure the bungee cord in the side slot. Fast and easy! New Pivoting Rails! Inspect your stitches and get easy access to change your bobbin
with the new easy-lift rail mount system. The bottom two rails lift up out of the way,
while preserving the tension in your work area. Warranty Transforms into a hand-stitch quilting frame too! Why should you buy a GMQ Pro? 1. With the Handi-Handles, you control the speed of the machine and the threadm cutter from one location. Most of the other home quilting machines require you to press the foot pedal with one foot while you step on the other. Long periods of doing this is very tiring, and you have to stop several times and move the foot control while you are going from one end to the other. 2. The rails of the Grace tables are very sturdy, and do not bend or bow when you tighten the tension. The extruded aluminum is very strong, and the ratchet gears tension your quilt perfectly every time. The end tensioning is ideal - slide the end tension bars out to the correct tension, and lock them down. On some of the frames that have PVC or small aluminum rods, when the quilt is tensioned right on the ends, the bow in the middle makes the tension too loose there. Also, if you use a table pattern to quilt, the quilt pattern winds up not being straight from end to end as it is on the Grace Frame. 3. You have a very positive attachment of the rails to the quilt, with the Fabri-Fast system holding the quilt perfectly tensioned and straight from end to end every time. When machine quilting, the correct tension is very important. With some of the others, you attach the quilt with tape. You spend more time tensioning and re-tensioning than you do quilting, and possibly get tape residue on your new quilt. 4. The stability of the Grace Frame is superior to any of the other home quilting machines.. It is very sturdy. You do not get any vibration or undesired movement when quilting. This is due in part to the weight, and in part to the superior design and workmanship. The new model now has leveling feet, and the legs fold up under the table for storage. 5. The design of the Grace Machine Table is superbly done. No short cuts were taken to use off the shelf materials to make manufacturing easier. It is designed and engineered to do what it was intended to do, regardless of the manufacturing cost. Every part on it is engineered and designed to make it the best it can be. This was the goal in the design phase, and it was accomplished well. The testing of the design was rigorous, and the results show in the finished product. 6. The quality and workmanship of the Grace Machine Frame is as good as you will find. Every part works perfectly, and there are no scratches, misscuts, or any other signs of poor workmanship. Combine this with the superior materials it is made of, and you have truly a quality product. 7. The usability of the frame is fantastic. It does what it was designed to do, and in a very usable fashion. There are no weaknesses that you have to overcome with extra steps or work-arounds. 8. The value of the Grace Machine Frame cannot be beaten. It is often said that you get what you pay for, but in this case I believe you get more. From initial design through end user satisfaction, we found no shortcomings. The Grace gives you more "Bang for the Buck" than any of their competition. 9. We have sold several Grace Frames to people who had bought another brand, and were not satisfied. Except for the professional frames which cost thousands of dollars, we believe that the Grace Machine Frame is the best on the market. What else will you need to get started? You will need about 3 1/3 yards of muslin or similar fabric to make the leaders. They
are made by sewing a pocket on both sides of a piece of 12 to 15 inch wide strip of
fabric. It should take you less than 30 minutes to cut and sew. Muslin is recommended, but
some other fabrics will work. You may already have this in your fabric stash, or it is
available from your favorite fabric store. |
